2. JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:

Design, implement, and evolve the cloud architecture to support Riyad Bank's business objectives and IT strategy. Develop a well-informed cloud strategy and oversee the cloud adoption process, ensuring alignment with business and technology goals. Assess the organization’s cloud requirements, define technical direction, and develop roadmaps for cloud migrations, focusing on security, performance, and disaster recovery. Guide project teams in implementing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions. Regularly evaluate cloud applications and hardware, collaborate with IT security to monitor cloud privacy, and provide best practices for optimizing cloud environments.

Strategy
Contributes to the development of departmental strategy and ensures translation and alignment during the development and monitoring of departmental strategy including objectives, targets and initiatives

Policies, Processes & Procedures
Implements approved departmental policies, processes, procedures, and provides instructions to subordinates and monitors their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner

Continuous Improvement
Stimulates subordinates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering 'international best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

Budget
Provides input for the development of departmental budget and monitors performance against approved levels within own function, ensuring any variances are appropriately addressed

Day-to-day operations
Supervises the day-to-day operations of the unit to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes & procedures.

Architecture department
Develop a well-informed cloud strategy for Riyad Bank and manage the adoption process, ensuring alignment with business and IT goals.
Advise EA, business, and technology teams on leading cloud practices, architectural approaches, and cloud-native solutions.
Define technical direction and develop roadmaps for cloud migrations, managing implementation and technical solutions.
Identify top cloud architecture solutions to meet Riyad Bank’s strategic needs, focusing on security, scalability, and performance.
Develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) to ensure the workability and feasibility of proposed cloud architecture and designs.
Document high-level and detailed cloud designs, considering security, performance, Business Continuity Planning (BCP), and Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP).
Offer guidance on infrastructure movement techniques, including bulk application transfers into the cloud, ensuring seamless transitions.
Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software to ensure they meet business needs and optimize performance.
Collaborate with IT security to monitor cloud privacy and security, addressing risks related to key cloud platforms.
Perform cloud management activities, including deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and ongoing management within the established cloud framework.
Conduct cloud migrations for tools, applications, and services, ensuring efficient and secure transitions to the cloud.
Provide best practices for provisioning production and non-production environments on the cloud to optimize usage and cost-efficiency.
Collaborate closely with product teams and enterprise architecture experts and infrastructure architects to ensure that the infrastructure that can efficiently support product development and growth, while also maintaining reliability and security

Main Interaction with
Enterprise Architecture Team, Solution Designers, Technology Delivery Teams, Data & Information Architect, Cybersecurity and Risk teams

Direction of Subordinates
Organizes and supervises the activities and work of a team of subordinates to ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner

Reporting
Prepares departmental reports of Riyad Bank timely and accurately to meet the bank and department requirements, policies and standards

Committees and Meetings
Represents the function and actively contributes to various committees/meetings (internal and external) as applicable and per authority levels to ensure relevant matters are dealt with in timely and efficient manner

People Management
Ensures and facilitates the employment, training, and development of Saudi nationals within the organization

Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure healthy and safe work environment

5. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized and accredited institution. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Certifications in Azure or Google Cloud.

Minimum Experience:
10+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud solutions.
Strong experience in structured Enterprise Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration strategies and roadmaps.
Experience in designing cloud-native architectures on platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

6.Technical Knowledge areas:

Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current trends, ensuring the adoption of cutting-edge cloud solutions.
Knowledge of networks, firewalls, proxies, and security risks associated with major cloud platforms, ensuring secure cloud infrastructure.
Strong understanding of cloud automation tools, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and others, to streamline cloud infrastructure deployment and management.
Experience in estimating production run costs and implementing cost optimization strategies to ensure efficient use of cloud resources.
Deep expertise in hybrid cloud deployments and cloud-native architecture design, ensuring seamless integration of cloud and on-premise systems.
Proficiency in AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure Cloud technologies, focusing on scalable, secure, and reliable cloud architectures.
Familiarity with disaster recovery (DRP) and business continuity (BCP) practices, ensuring robust cloud solutions that align with organizational risk management.
