Location: Ras Al Khaimah (remote flexibility across regions)
Contract: Initial 1-year (extendable)
Experience: 5–10 years

Overview

RAK Ceramics is looking to hire a Data Protection / Privacy Specialist to establish and lead a greenfield data protection function within a newly restructured Information Security team. This is a new role (not replacement) reporting directly into the Head of InfoSec (Prasad).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data protection and privacy frameworks
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and relevant data protection regulations (e.g. PDPL)
• Lead data risk management and governance initiatives
• Draft and implement policies, procedures, and employee data handling standards
• Engage and communicate with senior stakeholders across the business
• Support the organisation in building data protection maturity from scratch

Key Requirements (Must-Have)

• Strong expertise in GDPR / data protection regulations
• Experience in data governance, risk management, and privacy frameworks
• Proven ability in policy drafting and implementation
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Practical, hands-on experience (not purely certification-based)

Nice to Have

• Background in legal / law (preferred but not mandatory)
• Exposure to multi-region data privacy environments

• No specific tools required initially (tooling will be introduced later)
• Role is industry-agnostic
• Opportunity to build and scale a team over time
• Flexible on location (UAE / India preferred; Europe possible but cost-sensitive)
• Notice period flexibility: 1–2 months acceptable
