Role: Technology Engineer (Public Cloud)

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Engagement: Contractual

Duration: 12 Months (Extendable, Long-term with Marc Ellis)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure across Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will focus on building and maintaining cloud-native platforms, enabling DevOps practices, and ensuring robust networking, security, and governance across environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across Azure and GCP
• Build and operate Kubernetes platforms (GKE, AKS) and cloud-native services
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep)
• Configure and maintain cloud networking (VPC, VNet, peering, private endpoints, DNS, hybrid connectivity)
• Manage identity and access controls (Azure Entra ID, Google IAM, RBAC)
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting across environments
• Support incident troubleshooting, performance tuning, and platform stability
• Integrate and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure security best practices and policy enforcement
• Automate tasks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage and cost

Experience & Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering / DevOps / platform engineering
• Experience in banking / financial services environments – Good to have     
• Cloud certifications (Azure / GCP) – Good to have

Technical Skills:

• Cloud: Azure & GCP
• Containers: Kubernetes (GKE / AKS)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Bicep
• Networking: VPC/VNet, peering, private endpoints, DNS, hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute/Cloud Interconnect)
• IAM & Security: Azure Entra ID, Google IAM, RBAC
• Monitoring & Observability: Azure Monitor, GCP Operations Suite, Prometheus, Grafana
• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar
• Scripting: Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Exposure to OpenShift or enterprise container platforms
• Knowledge of GitOps (e.g., ArgoCD)
