Job Purpose
The Senior Data
Product Manager helps setting out the strategy alongside the product leadership.
Always considering the larger business objectives and aligning them with
customer needs to design and develop products and features throughout its
lifecycle. The role is responsible for researching and articulating the needs,
quality standards for products to be developed. It is also responsible to rally
with appropriate technology teams, using agile frameworks, to turn product
vision into reality for our
customers.
The senior
product manager has an exemplary position in which they help guide the product
team to continuously improve and revise their way of working.
Key
Responsibilities
·
Product Design & Analysis – Identify the
customer needs aligned with the larger business goals and objectives to enable
long term customer adoption and Growth
·
In collaboration with the leadership team of
product drive strategic directions for the different products and data
strategies
·
Articulates product vision, strategy, objectives
and quality standards required for product success
·
Lead the ideation, technical development and
launch of innovative products aimed at improving the full customer lifecycle
·
Lead the business intelligence teams to help
support the company vision
·
Define and communicate clear KPIs and OKRs
·
Research, articulate and promote user needs and
experiences with products
·
Monitor market and maintain ongoing competitive
analysis and action planning
·
Facilitate discussion with key stakeholders,
aligning ideas and needs into common vision for product design, planning and
engagement
·
Evaluate promotion plans to ensure they are
consistent with product strategy
·
Lead product evangelism to build clear awareness
and understanding of vision and product features and capabilities
·
Use product data to update, improve, and
identify new opportunities to sustain user engagement and adoption long term
·
Maintain product features and updates throughout
the lifecycle of the product
·
Product Planning – Detail product vision through
planning, prioritization and roadmaps to enable predictable customer delivery
·
Balance the ideas and specifications of business
objective, user experience and technology capability to plan scope, schedule
and cost parameters for product development
·
Work with multiple internal stakeholders to
intake and prioritize data/analysis requests, scope and define detailed
requirements for data analyst and data science team members;
·
Translate product strategy and ideas into
detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
·
Scope and prioritize activities based on
business and customer impact objectives
·
Define KPIs and product metrics for features,
ensuring necessary data is collected and reviewed and updated regularly
throughout the product life cycle
Product Development
– Work with technology teams to collaborate on goals
and deliver to
those goals to achieve business objectives
·
Facilitate collaborative discussions with
technology development teams to enable product development according to design
and timeline specifications
·
Work collaboratively with technology teams to
overcome obstacles and deliver release stories quickly and adequately
·
Work to promote data literacy across the
organization to drive data-driven decision making culture;
Collaborative
Leadership – Responsible for managing communication and
relationships
across key stakeholders and teams in order to effectively lead and
enable
achievement of delivery goals
·
Expected to take a leading role when it comes to
continually improving processes within product as well as with other
departments
·
Mentoring medior and junior product managers,
sharing knowledge and guiding them in creating valuable product iterations.
·
Organize and enable high performing technology
teams to achieve established KPI and objectives through agile methodologies
·
Build effective relationships with team members,
inviting and facilitating problem solving and idea generation to help empower
individual capabilities
·
Train, coach and develop team members as
appropriate, ensuring clear expectations about contributions to the team are
communicated and discussed in an open, collaborative team culture
·
Evaluate and periodically review competencies throughout
team, identifying areas for new training or further skill development to enable
ongoing results
·
Generate and share data driven reports about
team performance, mission-related objectives, key results and timelines
·
Establish schedules, processes, deadlines, and
targeted results to enable ongoing improvement and ability to achieve improving
results
Education,
Experience and Required Skills Education
·
Bachelor degree in relevant field (engineering,
technology, product)
·
Agile/Scrum Certification is an advantage
Experience
·
6+ years of Product management related
experience
·
3 years relevant experience working in
agile/scrum environments
·
3 years of relevant professional experience
with data teams in some combination of marketing, growth, product and/or
analytics;

Proven ability to develop product strategies, effectively

Agile/Scrum familiarity with foundational
concepts and philosophies

Practical experience performing user research
and market research

Strong data management and analytical abilities
·
Experience leading design and development of
digital products
·
Experience using digital product planning tools
including roadmap, user stories, acceptance criteria, etc.

Ability to understand business priorities and
prioritize scarce resources appropriately;
·
Experience managing E-Learning platforms is a
strong advantage
·
Previous experience with directly managing
product managers is an advantage
·
Experience working with BI, Learning Analytics,
Big Data and AI applications a strong advantage
·
