Procurement Specialist

Role and Scope:
• Reporting into the Procurement manager, the main function of the role is to lead the
procurement support functions ensuring that the services provided are of a consistently high
quality in terms of effectiveness, efficiency and best value and in the provision of a proactive,
dynamic and professional service to assist with the delivery of business objectives across the
group
• Liaising with stakeholders, you will develop, promote and embed procurement and supply
chain management tools and techniques that drive best practice across the group,
recognizing and adapting to local variances to ensure that the function is regarded as an
enabler not a blocker.
• You will ensure that a proactive, creative and challenging approach to managing
organizational expenditure on bought-out spend on goods and services is constantly applied,
being an ambassador for professional procurement, applying an expansive approach to
delivering a holistic view of supply chain management, developing strategic relationships, and
forging new ways of working to deliver value for money for the business, minimize risk,
protect shareholder value and enhance the brand.
• The main duties for this role will cover the strategy, continuous improvement, innovation,
compliance, capability, development, stakeholder engagement, supplier management and
risk mitigation
Responsibilities:
• Implementation of new policies, processes and forms as and when required
• Numbers of Purchase Order issued and average time to complete
• Adherence to Procurement Policies and Procedures
• Achieve cost savings for the organization
• Satisfaction index, engagement level
• Comply with the Group Procurement Policy
• Building and strengthening relationships with internal and external customers
• Assist in the design of the ERP system at the Procurement level.
Skills:
• Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
• Experience of working closely with suppliers
• Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements
• An understanding of distribution processes and components would be advantageous
• Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills/abilities
• Arabic speaker preferred
Qualifications and Experience:
• Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or studying towards
CIPS qualification would be beneficial
• 10 + years of relevant experience
• business/ commercial or manufacturing/ healthcare degree preferred
• Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within a healthcare
environment
