Role: Technology Engineer (DevOps PaaS
Location: Dubai, UAE
Type: Yearly Extendable

The Technology Engineer (DevOps PaaS) will play a key role in driving the engineering function for the
technologies he/she is responsible for. While managing the day-to-day operational activities is not
expected here, this role will be accountable for the overall delivery activities such as Design,
Development, Implementation, Standardization, Automation and Capacity Planning.

The role is expected to find optimal solutions to problems and implement them based on the
infrastructure and project requirements. You are encouraged to not only use but also contribute into
open-source technologies wherever it is applicable while maintaining interoperability and functionality
of the infrastructure. You will be expected to do deep dive into various technologies and explore the
capabilities to leverage

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive understanding of DevOps / SRE, IaC and 12 Factor Principles

• Excellent hands on experience in configuration management, orchestration and IaC tools
(Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform)

• Architect, write and implement software that improves the stability, scalability, availability of
products

• Own multiple services and have the autonomy to do what suits the business and our customers
in IT.

• Solve occurring problems and create solutions and automation to prevent them from happen
again.

• Plan for reliability for systems to work across multi datacenter/environment and handle the
outages.

• Support on call if needed

• Knowledge about API communications (Rest/Soap), developing a new consumer/publisher for
any API

• Excellent Scripting in Groovy (writing Jenkins Files) / Bash / PowerShell / Python

• GITOPS driven configuration management and deployment

• Familiar and openminded to Opensource technologies

Requirements

• Bachelors of Computer Science or equivalent

• Agile methodologies and its ceremonie

• Strong understanding of Virtualization Technologies (KVM / Libvirt / oVirt / KubeVirt. OVM,
Openstack)

• Strong understanding of Software Defined Storage Technologies (CEPH, GlusterFS)

• Strong understanding of Repository and Artifact management Tools (Red Hat Satellite,
Spacewalk, Nexus)

• Strong understanding of Container Technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)

• Strong understanding of ELK and its beats (Auditbeat, FileBeat)

• Strong understanding of OS Compliance Policies (CIS Benchmark)

• Red Hat Certified Architect or Equivalent

• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation

• Adequate understanding of project management methodologies.
