
Job Description – Director, Investment Advisor
Overview
The Investment Advisory function plays a central role within private banking by
delivering investment advisory and portfolio management services to high-net-
worth and strategic clients.
The Director, Investment Advisor is responsible for providing investment outlooks,
global market analysis, asset allocation insights, and portfolio solutions. The role
covers the full life cycle of client portfolios—from construction and
implementation to risk analysis, monitoring, and ongoing management—while
maintaining proactive engagement with business heads, team leaders, relationship
managers, and clients.
Key Accountabilities
• Enhance the investment advisory value proposition and drive business
development across the UAE, GCC, MENA, and international markets.
• Contribute to achieving financial budgets, AUM growth, advisory mandates,
client acquisition, revenues, and fee generation in line with business KPIs
and targets.
• Ensure delivery of advisory-related business objectives as set by senior
management.
• Provide tailored investment advisory services to private banking and
strategic clients.
• Manage client relationships across investment strategies, portfolio
construction, monitoring, rebalancing, and ongoing advisory services.
• Actively promote investment opportunities across asset classes and
solutions in line with investment outlooks and strategy; source new ideas
based on market developments and client feedback.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external
regulatory frameworks.
• Support projects aimed at enhancing advisory business infrastructure,
workflows, and service quality.
• Participate in operational matters related to the advisory function.
• Facilitate and deliver investment advisory training when required.
Mandatory Requirements
• UAE National with Family Book.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
• Proven experience in financial analysis.
• Strong background in portfolio management, including implementation,
execution, and risk analysis.
• Demonstrated experience managing Assets Under Management (AUM).
Qualifications & Experience
Experience & Skills
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in investment advisory, portfolio
management, or related functions.
• Strong technical expertise in investment research, propositions, and
recommendations.
• Deep knowledge of global markets, macro and microeconomic trends,
portfolio construction, implementation, and management.
• Ability to operate independently under pressure and manage multiple
priorities.
• Strong team player with proven ability to build relationships across
stakeholders including private bankers, clients, peers, and leadership.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and detail-oriented skills.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic and other languages are an advantage.
Academic & Professional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
