Job Purpose
The Cloud Solutions Architect – OCI & GCP is responsible for leading the architecture, design, and governance of enterprise cloud environments across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Google Cloud Platform. This role translates complex business and technical requirements into secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud architectures. You will establish standards, implement automation frameworks, and drive best practices for enterprise cloud adoption and modernization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Architecture & Design
Develop High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level (LLD) design documents and reference architectures for OCI and GCP solutions.
Conduct capacity planning, performance sizing, and TCO/ROI assessments to inform strategic cloud decisions.
2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation
Design and manage Terraform modules, Deployment Manager templates, and Ansible/PowerShell scripts for provisioning compute, network, storage, and VMware SDDC environments (OCVS).
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitLab CI for automated deployments, image builds, and configuration compliance.
3. Performance, Cost & Capacity Optimization
Architect monitoring and alerting systems leveraging OCI Monitoring & Logging and GCP Cloud Monitoring/Logging.
Perform ongoing right-sizing and recommend cost-saving strategies such as committed-use and sustained-use discounts.
4. Security & Compliance
Define and implement security guardrails, microsegmentation strategies (e.g., NSG, Security Lists, NSX-T), and enforce policy-as-code using tools such as OPA, Sentinel, and Config Rules.
Integrate cloud platforms with enterprise IAM (OCI IAM, GCP IAM) and encryption solutions (OCI KMS, Cloud KMS) to ensure data protection and access control.
5. Governance & Standards
Establish and maintain cloud governance frameworks, naming conventions, tagging standards, and change control procedures.
Lead architecture review boards and maintain a centralized library of enterprise cloud reference architectures.
6. Cross-Functional Leadership & Enablement
Lead collaborative workshops and technical design sessions with application, networking, operations, and security teams to ensure solution alignment and compliance.
Mentor engineering teams, perform technical reviews of HLD/LLD artifacts, and produce operational runbooks and best-practice documentation.
7. Cloud Migration & Modernization
Plan and execute both lift-and-shift and cloud-native modernization strategies, including VMware/OCVS migrations.
Design rollback and high-availability strategies to ensure minimal downtime and service continuity during cloud transitions.
