Role: Senior Technology Engineer (OpenShift Administrator)

Job Summary:
The Senior OpenShift Administrator will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing OpenShift
clusters in on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in
containerization, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong
hands-on experience with OpenShift (including ACM, ACS, CSI, and CNI), ArgoCD, Ansible, and Terraform,
ensuring secure, scalable, and high-availability environments that align with enterprise cloud and DevOps
strategies.
Education:
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Preferred Certifications:
✓ Red Hat Certification
✓ Azure Cloud Architect
✓ AWS Cloud Architect
✓ OCI Cloud Implementation
Experience:
• At least 8 years of experience at a relevant technical position in large organizations,
✓ Managed at least two migration projects from on-premise to Public Cloud
✓ Expert in Terraform and Ansible and with hands-on experience in migrating applications to
Cloud.
✓ GITOPS driven configuration management and deployment.
• Must possess deep expertise in evaluating and comparing services across major public cloud
providers.
• Should have a strong understanding of cloud adoption models, including hyperscaler environments,
storage solutions, and network connectivity.
• Solid knowledge of both Windows and Linux internals is essential.
Technical and Core Competencies:
• Public Cloud Expertise: In-depth understanding of Public Cloud technologies, architectures, and
services across major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
• OpenShift Administration: Hands-on experience in setting up, configuring, and managing OpenShift
clusters in on-premises environments, ensuring high availability and scalability.
• OpenShift Ecosystem: Proficient in ACM, ACS, CSI, and CNI, with strong conceptual and practical
understanding of OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt).
• API Communication: Proficient with REST and SOAP APIs; capable of developing new API consumers
and publishers.
• Infrastructure Fundamentals: Strong conceptual grasp of infrastructure components and how they
interoperate across hybrid environments.
• DNS Management: Knowledge of Authoritative and Non-Authoritative DNS, Dynamic and BIND DNS,
and DNS forwarders.
• SSL & Security: Deep understanding of SSL/TLS communication, handshake mechanisms, cipher suites,
and encryption algorithms.
• Active Directory: Familiar with Security OUs, policies, and identity management principles.
• Certificate Management: Skilled with SAN, client authentication, keystores, and mutual SSL
configuration.
• Networking & Security: Exposure to load balancers, site selectors, and firewall configurations.
• Vault & Secrets Management: Experience with CyberArk and HashiCorp Vault.
• High Availability: Proven understanding of HA architecture design and implementation.
Automation, Scripting & DevOps Tools:
• Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Strong hands-on experience with ArgoCD, Ansible, Jenkins, and
Terraform for configuration management, orchestration, GitOps-driven deployments, and IaC
automation.
• Scripting Languages: Advanced proficiency in Groovy (Jenkinsfile authoring), Bash / PowerShell and
Python
• Connectivity & Networking: Solid understanding of cloud connectivity principles, SD-WAN, and private
interconnects.
• Repository & Artifact Management: Familiar with Red Hat Satellite, Spacewalk, and Nexus for artifact
lifecycle management.
• Containerization: Strong grasp of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift container orchestration.
• Monitoring & Observability: Practical knowledge of the ELK stack and its Beats (Auditbeat, Filebeat).
• Compliance & Security: Understanding of OS compliance and hardening policies aligned to CIS
Benchmarks.
• Methodologies: Experienced in Agile methodologies and ceremonies, working effectively within cross-
functional teams.
