2. Job Purpose
The VDI Solutions Architect will be responsible for leading the end-to-end design, capacity planning, and strategic roadmap for enterprise VDI and digital workspace services across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, scalable VDI architectures, while also establishing and governing standards, best practices, and automation frameworks.
3. Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Roadmap
Develop High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for VDI and digital workspace solutions.
Conduct capacity planning, workload sizing, and perform Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI) analyses.
Platform Strategy & Governance
Define and enforce technical standards, best practices, and naming conventions for VDI images, builds, and configurations.
Implement governance models for change management, security compliance, and lifecycle management of VDI platforms.
Automation & Integration
Design infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, and Ansible for repeatable, scalable deployments.
Integrate VDI environments with identity and access management systems, endpoint management tools, and cloud orchestration platforms (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, Workspace ONE).
Performance Optimization & Capacity Management
Lead initiatives for performance tuning, predictive capacity planning, and dynamic scaling.
Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards and operational runbooks to support trend analysis and cost efficiency.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Coordinate workshops with application, networking, and security teams to ensure cross-platform compatibility and integration.
